I had a friend ask today whether I was nervous about draft (Thursday). I told her that I had a dream that I made the Hula Honeys (true story) and that I couldn't help but go over and over again in my mind all the mistakes that I've made over the past two weeks (also true). She sent me this response:
"I like the Hulas too & you will be amazing in any color :) Remember what someone very wise & AWESOME once told me. FWD: Oh! And don't think about the things you did wrong. Remember what you did right. It's easier to replicate something you already do well and focusing too much on the things you missed virtually guarantees you will make the same mistakes again."
...it's is a direct quote from a text I had sent to her months ago when we first started scrimmaging. It made me think two things:
1.) DAMN I give good advice! That is really comforting.
2.) I hate it when I'm right.
Still, a shift in perspective has begun to occur and I can see the awesome train pulling up in the distance.
Thanks lady. XOXO
